Continuing Education and Training
My education has been a rewarding journey of exploring whole body aspects through body, mind and spirit. I draw on life interests of meditation, nutrition, yoga, art and animals to enliven and enhance my practice as a massage therapist, craniosacral therapist and integrative healing energy practitioner. I offer a skillful touch that had been refined and sensitized over the years of practicing. I am dedicated to my clients and to continuing education in the field of healing body modalities for improved health and wellness. Initial massage training at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy led me to become a Registered Massage Therapist, specializing in Swedish massage with a thorough, knowledgeable foundation in bodywork. I have received over 2,000 hours of training and have passed provincial board examinations qualifying me as a Registered Massage Therapist, under governing boards.
After practicing massage therapy in Whitehorse for 7 years, I was intuitively drawn to exploring and learning Craniosacral Therapy, and found The Upledger Institute. Each level of training impressed me to continue learning more until I achieved Advanced Level and Pediatric CST. The learning never ends, as the body is miraculous and sometimes mysterious. Research into this “newer” body system continues to inform and open the way to optimize body healing through a gentle touch, focused attention and compassion. Craniosacral Therapy bridges the physical body and energetic body of your being. It’s about flow of fluids and energy, in relationship to bony attachments and fascia within the body, to release restrictions and reset the body’s natural craniosacral rhythm.
The next step in my education was to deepen my interest and awareness of energy flow as a healing art. I studied in a 3 year programme from 2004 to 2007 called Integrative Energy Healing, through Langara College’s continuing education department. This was a rich programme with highly qualified instructors, immense amounts of information and many hours of practice required. My fascinating journey into the body continues to broaden and deepen over 32 years of practice and continuing education.
